Get to know Ada Li — Events and Special Projects Coordinator
Known for her cheerful disposition, high energy, and can-do attitude, our Events and Special Projects Coordinator Ada Li is busy organizing events almost every week. She brings the community together—whether it's for Coffee and Conversation (C&C), the Research in Progress Series (RiPS), happy hours, symposia, seminars, or almost any event you can think of. While she’s often behind the scenes, she’s the one making it all come together.
We caught up with her to learn more about her background and what makes her tick.
Can you share a bit about yourself, including your professional background?
I hold a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in management. Before joining Stanford, I worked at Bryant University as the Assistant Director for Academic and Exchange Programs, where I managed academic and international programs, analyzed international education data, and coordinated global initiatives. I also planned and executed a variety of events, from research seminars to large-scale convocations and commencements. With almost nine years of experience at Bryant, I developed strong event planning and program management skills.
Tell us about your role here at ChEM-H.
I joined Sarafan ChEM-H as the Events and Special Projects Coordinator in June 2024. I design, plan, and coordinate a variety of events ranging from large conferences to community-building activities. I work closely with program managers and stakeholders on event logistics, including registration, materials, and post-event evaluations. Additionally, I manage special projects and handle various administrative tasks. My goal is to ensure seamless event execution while fostering community engagement.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The opportunity to bring people together through meaningful events and initiatives. I love the challenge of planning and coordinating diverse activities, from large-scale events to small community gatherings, and seeing them come to life. The variety of tasks and the collaborative nature of my work keeps things dynamic and fulfilling. I also appreciate the chance to contribute to the success of the Sarafan ChEM-H community and foster connections that support our shared goals.
Do you have a favorite spot to grab a bite on campus?
Lakeside dining hall is my go-to on campus.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy exploring new places, trying different cuisines, and spending time with family and friends.
