What we offer
Sarafan ChEM-H aims to educate a new generation of scientists from diverse backgrounds who will merge expertise in chemistry, biology, engineering, and clinical sciences to revolutionize how we understand and innovate in human health. ChEM-H programming helps prepare our undergraduates, postbac scholars, graduate students, and postdocs for research independence and supports and inspires them as they solve big problems in human health.
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students are given experiences tailored to supporting them at the beginning of their scientific careers, including mentored research and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Postbacs
The Sarafan ChEM-H/IMA Postbac Program in Target Discovery provides postbac scholars with the opportunity to conduct two years of full-time, paid research in a Stanford lab.
Graduate Students
The Chemistry/Biology Interface Predoctoral Training Program at and the Stanford Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellowships at Sarafan ChEM-H provide Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. graduate students with a unique interdisciplinary environment and added support to complement the training they receive in their degree-granting programs.
Postdocs
Stanford postdocs interested in interdisciplinary research can explore the opportunities Sarafan ChEM-H provides in community-building, networking, and seed grants.
